The Central High Atlas, unlike the Toubkal, is mainly formed by sedimentary rocks. Its heavy forms are cut by many impressive canyons and superb inhabited Berber valleys. This section of the High Atlas Range is certainly the largest, thus, much more preserved and less travelled.

Day 1 Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech Airport,where you will be welcomed by your guide. A short transfer will take you to your 5* hotel, overnight on B&B basis.
Day 2 Marrakech – Azilal – Rouguelt
After an early breakfast, we will drive east via the city of Azilal. Through a high mountain road we will get to our trek start point at Abachkou where we will meet our Berber muleteer team at 1600m. While having our picnic all baggage and camping equipment is loaded on the mules. Off we go for an amazing eight days trek in the Berber land. We walk through a small valley before we take a high trail leading us to our first bivouac near the village of Rouguelt at 2000m (5h00 transfer & 2h30 trek)..
Day 3 Rouguelt – Tassaout n’Oufella
Today we climb the Tizi n’Rouguelt a 2900m, on the top you can admire the superb views and the colorful Tassaout valley. We start our long descent down to join the first villages of the Tassaout. After Tasgaiwart, we trek up along the river to reach our camp at 2350m (6h00 trek).
Day 4 Tassout n’Oufella – Almou
This morning, we cross the beautiful village of Tassaout n’Oufella and climb the pass overhanging the Wandrass Canyons, the scenery is just amazing! As we reach the pass, we hike across high transhumance territories occupied by herds of goats and sheep, camp at 2800m (7h00 trek)..
Day 5 Almou – Mgoun 4068m – Tizi n’Tanwout
Today is the “challenging” day climbing the second highest range of Morocco. We will first walk up the Tizi n’Oumssoud before we reach a first summit at 4001m. From then, we follow an amazing long crest with a 360° panoramic view till the top of the Mgoun 4068m. After enjoying a good pause on the summit, we will make our long way downhill before an ultimate uphill towards our lovely bivouac settled at 2900m (9h00 trek).
Day 6 Tizi n’Tanwout – Bouguemez
Today is our last full day walk. You will climb the Tizi n’Bouiberden Pass at 3260m, from top you will admire the enchanting green valley of Bouguemez. A zigzagging path will lead us to the village of Ait Imi and further down our gite for overnight. (7h trek)
Day 7 Bouguemez – Imlil.
After a farewell to the magnificent Bouguemez valley, we will start our long driving to transfer to our next mountain objective, Toubkal – the highest summit in North Africa. We drive back to Marrakech, then from Marrakech a further 2 hours drive will lead us to Imlil on the foot of Mount Toubkal, overnight in a gite at 1900m. (1h trek)
Day 8 Imlil – Tazaghart Refuge
After breakfast we assist the packing of our luggage on our mules and start our trek heading west to climb the Tizi Mezzik. On the top of the pass, you will have the first flavor of the amazing views of the Atlas Mountains. After a rewarding pause with dried fruits and fresh water, we carry on our ascent via the azib n’Tamsoult and superb waterfalls. The path gets steeper as we approach our refuge for the night at 3100m. (7h trek)
Day 9 Tazaghart – Toubkal Base Camp
A steep morning walk to climb the Tizi Aguelzim (3650 m), you will enjoy the first sight of the imposing peak of mount Toubkal, our menu for the next day. After a good pause, a quick downhill path will lead us towards the refuge Neltner where you will spend the night at 3200m. (6h trek)
Day 10 Base Camp – Toubkal – Marrakech
A very early start to climb the summit of mount Toubkal. On top, the superb scenery extending to the Sahara south and magnificent high peaks contrasting with flat low planes north is really breathtaking. We start our long way downhill and join the Ouawgant Valley. We reach our last lunch spot at refuge before continuing the descent to get to our minibus in Imlil 1700m. after farewells to our berber team and the Atlas, a 2 hours transfer to your hotel in Marrakech. (9h trek)
Day 11 Marrakech
A whole to explore the vibrant Marrakesh! There is a lot to see and visit from the souks to palaces and museums or enjoy a mint tea on a terrace overhanging the amazing Jamaa Lafna Square. Overnight in Riad in Marrakech, Bed & Breakfast basis.
Day 12 Return flight
