Days (Imperial Cities, Mountains, Oasis, Desert, Kasbah ,Gorges – Valleys and Berber Villages
Day 1: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat (340 km)
Breakfast. Continue to Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco. 14: 00h Interior visit of the Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world. Space for 20,000 believers and again for 200,000 on the square in front of it. It is built into the Atlantic. Continuation to Rabat, capital of Morocco. There is the Royal Palace of the present King Mohammed VI. Dinner and overnight in an authentic, upscale Riad.
Day 2: Rabat – Fez (200 km)
Breakfast. Sightseeing in Rabat: Sultan tombs Chellah Necropolis, Tomb V. Mohamed, Ouadaia Kasbah. Continue on Moulay Idriss and Volubilis, the old ancient ruined city of the Romans to Meknes. Tour of the city with the most beautiful gate of Morocco, the Bab El Mansour El Aleuj, the storage vault and horse stables and the Medina with the great mosque. Meknes is often also called the Moroccan Versailles and was next to the neighboring Fez for centuries the preferred residence of the rulers of Morocco. In Meknes good wine is grown. Continuation to Fes overnight in nice riad in the Medina.
Day 3: Fez
Breakfast. Sightseeing Fez, the oldest of the imperial cities. They intend to visit the three neighborhoods Fes El Djedid, Fes El Bali and the Neustadt. Impressive are the mighty walls, of which the entire old town is surrounded. You see the Batha palace (late 19th century built), which now houses a crafts museum, the madrasa Bou Inania, the Karaouine Mosque, the tomb of Idriss II, founder of Fes, and the pottery district. Lodging in a Riad in the old town with breakfast.
Day 4: Fez – Erfoud – Merzouga (450km)
After breakfast depart to the desert. About Erfoud, the rust-red oasis town with 300,000 date palms. Continue to the sandy desert of Merzouga. Dinner and overnight in Berber tent camp in the dunes at Erg Chebbi or on request in a nearby well-kept Auberge.
Day 5: Merzouga
After breakfast, a whole day in the desert of Merzouga! Opportunity for a camel ride or a jeep or quad tour. Or just let your spirits soar in the sand dunes and enjoy the starry sky at the sunset and later. This is very impressive by the few external light and 360 degree views. Dinner and accommodation as Day 6.
Day 6: Merzouga – Boumalne (250 km)
Breakfast, then drive to Tinerhir, an oasis in 1342 meters altitude, Travel to the Todhra Gorge with its 300 meters high cliffs. Continue to Boumalne. Dinner and overnight in authentic Kasbah hotel.
Day 7: Boumalne – Zagora (200 km)
After breakfast short in the wild Dades Gorge. Continuation to Zagora through the Draa Valley with a million date palms, almond and olive trees. Travel through ancient villages, through sand and stone desert past herds of camels,visit of the bibliotheque coranique , kasabach under the ground and the fabrication of ceramique in the willage of Tamgrout is 20 km from zagora. Dinner and overnight in a typical Kasbah hotel /riad.
Day 8: Zagora – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech (366 km)
Breakfast. Departure to Ouarzazate. On request, a short visit to a movie studio. Short drive to Ait Benhaddou, a Ksar (village), which was built in the rocks and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is. Here many well-known films have already been shot. countuny Marrakech passing a small Berber village and High Atlas mountains Overnight and dinner at your hotel/riad Marrakech.
